I had a great experience with the entire staff at PTCNJ. They are very knowledgeable and made the process go smoothly. The travel program they have set up is great, it makes it easy for out of state patients like myself to be able to still receive their top notch medical care/expertise. Highly recommended.

Our 18-year-old son suffered from pilonidal disease of the gluteal cleft and was in constant pain throughout much of his high school years. Before seeing Dr. Miller and Dr. Shrager, we had visited several other specialists. Unfortunately, the only treatment that was offered was repeated drainage of the cyst, which provided only temporary relief. None of the doctors we saw — about five specialists in total — seemed confident offering a long-term solution or discussing other procedures. I work in the medical field myself, although I am not a physician or surgical expert, so I was especially surprised that none of the specialists we consulted presented this option or seemed comfortable managing the condition beyond temporary drainage. We even sought consultations with multiple specialists throughout New York. By the time we found Dr. Miller and Dr. Shrager, our son had been dealing with recurring flare-ups and significant discomfort for years. They were the first physicians who clearly explained the condition and confidently presented a definitive procedure to properly address the problem. Their knowledge, confidence, and willingness to offer a real solution gave us a sense of relief we hadn’t felt before. Thanks to Dr. Miller’s care and expertise, alongside Dr. Shrager as medical director, our son finally received the surgical treatment he needed. We are incredibly grateful and would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with pilonidal disease. They truly deserve recognition for their dedication to helping patients who have suffered from this condition. We actually found them somewhat accidentally after extensive research, and I hope that by sharing our experience this review can help other patients and families find the right care sooner. Our son is truly fortunate to have had such a positive experience with such an incredible doctor and medical director. They make an outstanding team.

Update! As of February 2026, I am completely healed from the cleft lift procedure and can't say enough good things about PTCNJ! Dr Miller gave me my life back, and I feel like a completely different person. I had pilonidal disease for 5 years and I'm completely cured. Thank you, Dr Miller and Maria, and the entire PTCNJ team! Dr. Miller, Maria, and everyone else at Pilonidal Treatment Center of New Jersey has been incredible! I recently underwent the cleft-lift procedure under the care of Dr. Miller. I've never had medical care this thorough in my life. The staff at this practice take careful time with their patients and so far, my recovery has been uneventful and overall, super smooth. I cannot thank Dr. Miller and the whole PTCNJ staff enough for their care. I had been dealing with this disease on and off for 3+ years, in which it continued to get worse and really affected my quality of life. It was preventing me from doing things I used to love and was a constant mental block. From the initial consultation, I knew I was in great hands as Dr. Miller showed his compassion and really listened to my concerns/worries. He wanted me to be as informed as possible about this disease, my case, and why cleft lift surgery would fix it. He and Nurse Maria answered all the questions that I had both before and after surgery, which helped ease any anxiety I had.
