Materials Needed: - 100% cotton fabric (lightweight, if possible) - Soy wax pellets - Parchment paper - Paintbrush - Grater (if using a block of soy wax) - Baking sheet - Iron Instructions: 1. Prep the Fabric: Begin by washing, drying, and ironing your fabric. Then cut it into your desired sizes using scissors. 2. Melt the wax: Use a double boiler to melt your wax on low heat until the solids are completely dissolved 3. Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. This will protect the baking sheet and make cleanup easier. 4. Coat the fabric: Place a piece of cut fabric on the parchment paper and evenly coat your melted soy wax pellets over the fabric. 6. Iron it: Set your iron to the lowest temperature and iron your fabric covered by parchment paper for about 30 seconds. 7. Remove and Dry: Carefully remove the baking sheet from the top. Lift the fabric by two corners and wave it gently in the air for a few seconds to help it cool and harden. The wax will set quickly. 8. You are going to need barkeepers friend. Any version of barkers friend will work whether it’s the soft cleanser, the more spray formula, or the original powder cleanser. If you have water stains or any other grime on your stainless steel surface, barkeepers friend can remove it. When you are working with stainless steel, make sure you follow the grain. To find the direction of the grain, you need to get up close to the appliance so you can see the faint lines running along the finish. The lines on this dishwasher go side to side. So, to avoid unnecessary scratches, I wiped side to side, not up and down. If I were to go in the opposite direction of the grain, more cleaning residue mixed with any grime already on the steel might get deeper into the tiny little crevices of the grain. For optimal shininess, it’s best to go with the grain. Once you are done cleaning, you need to rinse the product off with water. This is important. It may take a couple of rinses, but you want to ensure all the product is off. I sprayed some water and wiped it with a clean, dry cloth. The last step is to use some Stainless Steel Polish. Radiators - radiators can collect a lot of dust so I like to use a hairdryer to blast out any dust that has accumulated inside. This is especially important around this time of year to do so that your radiators run as efficiently as possible. 2. Door frames - this is easy to forget as we cannot see the dust that has built up. I use a damp duster which collects and traps the dust so easily! All you have to do is rinse it clean afterwards! 3. Walls - I have only recently started doing this as it hadn’t even occurred to me that our walls can accumulate dust 🤣 I use a flash speed mop with dust pads and they collect dust so well! Swiffer do the US equivalent I believe. 4. Blinds - again blinds can pick up a lot of dust over time. I use a lint roller for our fabric blinds which is great to remove dust. Grab yourself a large glass bowl and slip the tablecloth or piece of clothing over it. Hold it tightly into place. 2. Boil up a kettle and pour the boiling water slowly over the stain. Anita Birges | Home Organisation🇦🇺 on Instagram: "❄️ When’s the last time you washed your and your family’s winter puffer jackets and vests?   If your answer is never, you are not alone‼️   💙 All you need is your Strucket and a bit of time because pieces of clothing like these need to be hand washed.   💙 I’m slightly obsessed with my Struckets because they are a strainer and bucket in one with an interlocking connection and plug at the bottom, making a job like this super fun and easy.   I also find it strangely satisfying to see all the dirt come out of a garment when it is washed.😆   All you need to do is this: - Fill up your @strucket about halfway with warm water, put in the smallest amount of washing detergent (like a teaspoon), and gently place your puffer jackets and vests in. - Agitate and leave to soak for an hour. - Once the hour is up, drain out the dirty water and refill with clean water to rinse. - Pull your items out of the water by lifting the strainer. - Connect the strainer to the top of the Strucket base; it connects in two places for hands-free straining. - Pull the plug and drain without having to pick the Strucket up and have water splashing everywhere. - Lay down flat on a washing line and leave to dry overnight. - It still might feel a little wet in the morning, but don’t worry; this is normal.   🚨But wait, there’s more… How do we get the puffiness back into our favourite puffer jackets?   💙 Place your jackets and vests into the dryer on a low heat with a dry towel and two tennis balls.
