Outdoor things to do in Louisville! If you love to be outdoors these are a few of our favorite things to do and places to visit.
Have been here when family visits and we love the trails and getting to see the giants! The kids really love the actual giants too and getting to go up close to them and climb on their legs. Super fun and beautiful trails!
Bernheim Forest and Arboretum
Big park with many different trails to pick from. Most are kid/family friendly! A few fun playgrounds around the park as well.
Cherokee Park
Super fun playground and splash pad shaped like the Belle of Louisville river boat. Also can take a walk on the Walking Bridge before or after you play!
Playgrounds – Waterfront Park
The Walking bridge is a super fun place to walk and look over the river! Toddler likes to bring his bike to ride as far as he can go while we walk. A beautiful spot to go if you are visiting the city!
Big Four Bridge
Blackacre is a super fun place to visit! They have horses, goats, and other animals you can bring veggies and fruit to feed to them. They host story times on Wednesdays and they have little places to explore on the property. Other things that you can...
Blackacre State Nature Preserve and Historic Homestead
Zoo and splash pad! A decent size zoo that's big enough to have lots to do but can totally be done in a day without feeling overwhelming.
Louisville Zoo
This is the best pumpkin patch we have visited! So many fun things for the whole family to do from corm maze, peering zoo, corn pit, lots and a tractor ride to pick out your own pumpkins from the patch! It's such a fun time for the whole family! 🫶

Love a good pizza spot! This is the first restaurant we went to when we moved here and we loved our margarita pizza! Great tasting pizza!
Coals Artisan Pizza
All you can eat meat, includes steak! Cook your meat at your table. It's a whole experience for your group. Big fans of Korean BBQ in FL so we are so excited one opened up here in Lou!
KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot
The best chicken I've ever had is from Momma's. Very good BBQ. Big fans of momma's and it's a very well known local spot.
Momma's Mustard, Pickles & BBQ - St Matthews
They have amazing kimchi! Cucumber, radish, and traditional cabbage kimchi and all sooo good. There hasn't been something we've tried tnat we didn't like from here. Sweet Korean couple tnat runs the shop and it's a fun time!
Sarang
We love the Pad Thai from here! Spice level from 1-5. Amazing flavors. We I've this spot!
Simply Thai
Amazing tacos! Traditional Mexican toppings of lime, cilantro, and onions- can add more toppings but it's so good like it comes. Various meats to have as taco filling and love everything we've eaten here.
LA ROSITASOL
Carali's is a family favorite in our house! It's one of the only places in Lou that remind us of south Florida. Great chicken and we love the Crazy Lomo
