When traveling with kids it’s much easier to move around with your own rented car as opposed to public transport or hotel shuttles on a strict schedule.
For a family of 4 needing 2 car seats and carrying a lot of luggage- this car makes driving around a breeze. With Europcar pick ups a lot easier
Van and minibus rental - 7 seats / 9 seats
We used Centauro on our first trip to Portugal and would highly recommend it if you want to pick up your car straight from the airport. They have shuttles from the airport to pick up points every 15 mins so you don’t have to wait around too long

We visit the Oceanario on every trip to Portugal and the kids love it - they get to see something new and they’re favorite sea animals each time

The telecabine not only gives you great views of Lisboa’s docks but is also the best way to get to the Oceanario and a lovely row of restaurants by the docks

If you or your kids are history buffs do not skip this monument- see if you can point out the statues of Henry the Navigator, Vasco Da Gama and many notable figures. Plus the esplanade features a gorgeous world map of Portugals colonies

We did this boat tour in the evening after walking around the city and it was the best way to end the day at sunset. They have both open air and indoor seating which worked well for us with the kids
