Starved rock is a beautiful place to go for the day. Pack a lunch, take a hike, go fishing, you can camp there too.
Starved Rock State Park
This is a staple for everyone. There is a dam that you can get some great photos on, a trail to walk, you can fish. You can go inside the mill and learn all about the history.
Graue Mill & Museum
Great place for picnics, walks, they do have bathrooms, great place to get together with friends and family to hang out for the day. You can fish here too.
Churchill Woods
So much to do here, something for every age group. Trails, water fun, basketball etc. Your Sure to have a fun day!
Berens Park
What a great park , has plenty of benches, nice walking path, the flowers are beautiful in spring and summer. Winter is a magical time here with lights and music. You definitely don't want to miss it.
Lilacia Park
My top picks for a bigger farmers market, love going here, the vibe is awesome and the produce is even better, food trucks, handmade items from jewelry to cloths, food, breads. Then take a walk around the beautiful town.
French Market
Another good farmers market. Lots of variety, you won't be disappointed

My favorite is the horseradish encrusted petite filet. Their chopped salad and for dessert, the flour less cake which is like a gooey brownie with chocolate sauce and fresh whipped cream. So good! Don't let the flour less part scare you.
