Puglia, Italy Must Do
I've visited Southern Italy many times and even considered a move here. I usually stay in Bari and then take day trips (by bus or train) to the surrounding towns.

Train or bus away from Bari - this village is a sight to see!
One of the best experiences I've ever had!
I recommend this to any new city I visit - helps to get the “lay of the land” while you are in town.
Sometimes, the nonna's let you get a bowl of pasta with their sauce - delish!

Matera is the 3rd oldest inhabited place in the world and is considered the city of Sassi (rocks). Many tours start in Bari
Small little beach in the city center but good if you want to just hang around Bari and not take a longer day trip.

The panzarotti are a personal favorite
Italian wine - a must try when you are in the region.
Hands down the best pizza in the area - if you are lucky to get a seat!
Don't be intimided - you go in, pick some of the fresh fish and then they will prepare them and bring them to you. I ate here a few times the last time I was in town - always very tasty
This little hole in the wall has delicious panzaratti for only 2-3 euros. Great for on the go while exploring the city
While technically Scottish, this pub is a great stop for after a visit to the beach in Bari (Pane & Pomodoro). Stop by for a pint and to watch il calcio.
