Scheels tends to have a variety of boards for good prices
Snowboards for Men, Women & Kids
These boards are high quality and come in a good range of sizes
Men's & Women's Snowboarding Equipment
REI has some good snowboards. Sometimes you can find one’s barely used or last season for a whole lot cheaper!
Snowboards for Men, Women, & Kids | REI Co-op
Okay these are not cheap, but if you have glasses these are SO much better than getting a helmet and goggles separately
Giro Orbit Spherical Ski Helmet with Visor
I have two pairs of these that I wear when it’s a little warmer, when I’m just tired of bulky snow pants, or if I’m just walking around a mountain resort. I love them!
Waterproof Softshell Snowboard Pants Fleece
Pay attention to flex when you are buying a board! For beginners, all-mountain with a slightly softer flex is generally recommended
A Beginner’s Guide to Buying A Snowboard (Setup)
You’ll think you won’t need this but trust me you’ll want it! Particularly good for beginners when learning to “skate” using their board. Very helpful when learning to get off the lift so your back food doesn’t slip!
Dakine Circle Mat Stomp Pad
If you have feet or arch issues, these are a must in your snowboard (or skii) boots! It’s the difference from riding for 3 hours before your feet hurt or being able to ride for 7.
Remind Insoles
ThirtyTwo has excellent boots for beginners! I use one of their BOA pairs. Having the right boots makes a huge difference for comfort and learning to ride
ThirtyTwo Snowboarding Boots
Skiing ⛷️
Always the nicest people no matter what location, and their gear rental prices beat literally everywhere else
Christy Sports: Your Winter Sports Gear Destination
Listen these look silly but are SO FUN! Particularly good if you tend to cross your ski’s (me), or you think skiing is harder than snowboarding (also me)
Snowfeet* | Skiskates, Skiblades, Snowblades, Short Mini Skis
DO NOT SKIMP ON A HELMET! I was saved from a terrible head injury because of a quality helmet. I recommend SMITH as one of the two best reasonably priced options
Ski & Snowboard Helmets - Shop Snow Helmets
I wear glasses and if I have to wear goggles, Giro tends to be better so your glasses and face feel less squished
Giro: Snow Goggles
I have this and it’s a lifesaver on icy days so you don’t accidentally scratch your car
