This book is so good!! She talks about how the women he killed actually weren't sex workers. Not all of them. They were poor women who went through a lot. She talks about the backlash she's gotten. There's a podcast too. It's very good.

He got his nickname because he would draw pictures of the men he left the bars with as a way to break the ice. Back then nobody wanted to talk, because it was still illegal to be gay. The Doodler is still unsolved to this day.
