I've put together a list of our campsite essentials for camping with kids and pets.  We've camped with our children and 3 dogs and found these things to be especially useful—clearly, not EVERYTHING you need,  but things we couldn't do without.

Most places require your dog be on a 6 foot lead at all times. These leads are great! They are adjustable in several lengths and come in a variety of colors. We've re-purchased several times over the years.

All National, and many State, Park Campgrounds use Recreation.gov for their reservation system. You can book 6 months in advance. Popular parks fill up fast. We always try to book our June camping in December or early January.
