If you're overwhelmed by which art philosophy watercolor set to get. I personally suggest the tropicals. I think it has enough colors to use straight out of the pan or mix them to create other colors. The pigments are also vibrant enough.

I started out with watercolor using this set. The colors are vibrant, easy to mix and not muddy. Personally, 12 colors are more than enough as you can learn to color mix.

A good starting set for beginners if you can't afford professional ones. They have enough colors for you to mix around and they don't get muddy. I like the consistency of the paint and they are pretty opaque.
