I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to find the right board that wouldn't bend when guests held it up. These actually hold their shape, even after 30 people grab them.

Dollar store props fall apart after two uses and look blurry in photos. These survived an entire wedding reception and still looked sharp on camera.

A blank wall behind your photo booth kills the whole vibe. I hung a backdrop with command strips and suddenly every photo looked like it belonged on a wedding website.

My first attempt at a DIY photo booth produced photos so dark you could barely see faces. Adding one ring light changed everything and I felt dumb for not doing it sooner.

Someone always gets stuck as the designated photographer and misses the fun. A tripod with a timer fixed that completely. Now everyone gets in the shot, including me.

Without some kind of border or signage, people just walk past your setup and don't realize it's a photo booth. A few decorations and a sign fixed that instantly.

People love walking away with a physical photo. I set up a portable printer next to the booth and it became the most popular thing at the party, more than the cake.

Instead of a boring sign-in book nobody reads later, I had guests stick their photo booth prints in a scrapbook and write a note underneath. Now it's my favorite thing from the whole party.

After all that work, I wasn't about to throw everything away. I packed it all into a bin and now I pull it out for every party. Neighbors have started borrowing it too.
