Water pooling on a saggy cover ruined two of my fire pits before I figured this out. These covers actually shed rain instead of collecting it like a birdbath.

The cover itself is only half the battle. I kept finding water sitting in the center until I added a support pole underneath. Felt dumb for not doing it sooner.

Nothing worse than finding your cover three houses down after a windy night. I lost two covers to the wind before I started anchoring them properly.

Covering a wet or dirty fire pit is how you get rust and mold. I learned this the expensive way when I had to replace a whole bowl after one season.
