The first two kits I ordered looked cute on the box and came with about four sad pieces inside. My daughter lost interest in ten minutes. These actually come with enough stuff to keep her busy for a full afternoon.

I cannot stress this enough. The first set of tiny furniture I bought snapped the same day. Little chairs with legs thinner than toothpicks do not survive a six-year-old's hands.

Regular flowers drown or outgrow fairy gardens in a week. I killed three rounds of plants before figuring out what actually thrives in a shallow pot on a windowsill.

A plastic tray from a kit is fine for day one but my daughter wanted something that looked like an actual garden. These containers made the whole thing feel more real and she stopped asking for a new kit every month.

After the initial setup my daughter wanted to keep adding things. Without new stuff to rotate in, she would have moved on to slime or something. These keep the garden fresh without buying a whole new kit.
