International Drive (I-Drive) is the beating heart of Orlando tourism, and after years of bringing visiting family and friends here, I know exactly where to point them. This local's guide covers the best attractions, dining, shopping, and entertainme...
Map
The 400-foot observation wheel is the landmark of I-Drive and the best intro to the area. Ride it at sunset for skyline views, then explore the restaurants, ax-throwing, and arcades around the plaza — it's free to walk around.
ICON Park & The Wheel
You can't miss the upside-down building, and inside it's a hands-on science playground with 100+ exhibits. It's my go-to rainy-day pick on I-Drive and a hit with kids and teens alike.
WonderWorks Orlando
Some of the most immersive escape rooms I've done anywhere. Great rainy-day or evening activity for groups, families, or a fun date — book ahead, the popular rooms fill up fast.
The Escape Game Orlando
Multi-level go-kart tracks, a huge arcade, laser tag, mini bowling, and surprisingly good food under one roof. This is our rainy-day or birthday spot — the karts are legit fast and fun for adults too.
Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Orlando
An open-air dining and entertainment complex right on I-Drive with restaurants, a movie theater, mini golf, and WonderWorks all in one walkable spot. Perfect for an easy evening when you don't want to plan much.
Pointe Orlando
At the south end of I-Drive, this open-air outlet mall has 180+ stores from Nike to Coach at real discounts. I always send visiting family here — budget a few hours and bring comfortable shoes.
Orlando International Premium Outlets
Climate-controlled hitting bays, a full food-and-drink menu, and games even non-golfers love. It's one of my favorite I-Drive-area nights out with friends — go in the evening when the bays light up.
Topgolf Orlando
A walk-through aquarium with a 360-degree ocean tunnel that kids adore. It's compact enough to do in about an hour, so it's a perfect pairing with the wheel and Madame Tussauds next door at ICON Park.
SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium
Strike a pose with celebrities, athletes, and superheroes — the wax figures are scary-realistic and the photo ops are endless. Combo tickets with SEA LIFE and the wheel are the best value at ICON Park.
Madame Tussauds Orlando
Lush, pirate-themed mini golf with waterfalls and caves — way nicer than your average putt-putt. It's our easy go-to for a low-key family evening on I-Drive, and it stays open late.
Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf
A classic Orlando amusement park with real roller coasters, go-karts, and a SkyCoaster — you can pay per ride or get a wristband. Way cheaper than the big parks and a blast for thrill-seeking families.
Fun Spot America Orlando
A water park right on I-Drive with slides, a lazy river, and a big arcade — you can buy a day pass even if you're not staying. It's our budget alternative when the kids want a water day without the resort prices.
CoCo Key Resort and Water Park Orlando
My favorite sit-down meal on I-Drive — tapas-style small plates in an artsy space with live painters and performers. Order a few dishes to share; the guava BBQ ribs and flatbreads are the move.
