The big one. Fall festival with a huge pumpkin patch, sunflower fields, hayrides, food trucks and a beer garden, then blueberry u-pick in spring. About 40 minutes from Kissimmee on the 429. Buy tickets online, weekends sell out.

Osceola County's own fall tradition on a working cattle ranch south of St. Cloud: a real corn maze, hayrides, pumpkins, cow train and zip line. Way less crowded than the Clermont farms and only 30 minutes from Kissimmee. Runs October into November.

Home of Scott's Maze Adventures, a massive corn maze that gets a new design every fall, plus the famous Zellwood sweet corn and a farm market cafe. Wear closed shoes, bring water, and go in the morning before the maze gets hot.

U-pick oranges, grapefruit and tangerines in winter, plus a monster-truck swamp tour through the groves any time of year. Close to the 192 Four Corners side of Kissimmee, so it's an easy add-on after a theme park morning. Fresh-squeezed juice at the ...

Orlando's classic strawberry u-pick, right in Oviedo. Season usually runs January through April; check their Facebook for the day's picking conditions before you drive. Cash for the buckets, and the berries beat anything at the grocery store.

My favorite blueberry u-pick, out in Groveland with pretty views over the lake. Season is roughly April through May, and they usually have a pumpkin patch and fall activities too. Go early, the bushes get picked over by noon on weekends.

A full-on fall festival up in Eustis: pumpkin patch, corn maze, sunflowers, giant slides and farm animals, then strawberry u-pick in spring. It's about an hour from Kissimmee, so make a day of it with a stop in downtown Mount Dora on the way home.

A pretty lakeside venue in Apopka that turns into a fall festival every October: hayrides, pumpkin patch, kids' games, food trucks and live music under the oaks. Smaller and more relaxed than the big farms, good for toddlers.

The closest blueberry u-pick to Orlando proper, tucked into Ocoee. Chemical-free berries, shady rows, and a laid-back honor-system vibe. Season is short (late March into May), so follow them online and jump when they open.

St. Cloud's own u-pick veggie farm and market on Canoe Creek Road: strawberries in winter, then tomatoes, peppers, squash and more through spring. Ten minutes from Kissimmee, and the farm market is worth a stop even when the fields are closed.

Farm days mean tired kids and heavy pumpkins, and this wagon handles both. The canopy matters more than you think in the Florida sun, and it folds flat in the trunk. We use ours at theme parks and the beach too.

Mosquitoes and no-see-ums love a Florida farm at dusk. Picaridin works as well as DEET without the smell or melting your sunglasses, and it's safe on the kids. Spray up before the hayride, not after.

You brought the pumpkins home, now carve them right. A real stainless kit with a scoop and saws beats the flimsy orange plastic ones that snap by the second pumpkin. Carve on the lanai; in our heat the pumpkins won't last long indoors anyway.

Berries and fresh produce turn to mush in a hot car on the ride back to Kissimmee. This is the cooler I keep in the truck for u-pick days: ice lasts all day, it's leakproof, and it doubles as a lunch cooler for the kids' waters.

Worth the hour drive toward the coast: a huge old-school u-pick with sunflowers, zinnias and veggies you cut yourself, plus a farm store. Combine it with a beach afternoon at Playalinda and you've got a perfect Saturday.
