Arrive at the gates 45-60 minutes before official open — HS crowds are the most front-loaded of any Disney park. Early Entry (resort guests) is the single biggest advantage here; use it on Slinky or Rise, never on shows.
Disney's Hollywood Studios
The best ride Disney has ever built, and the one worth paying for — if the standby line is over 90 minutes, the individual Lightning Lane is the rare upcharge we actually recommend. It breaks down often early, so don't burn rope drop here.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
The worst standby line in the park relative to ride length — either rope-drop it FIRST thing or ride in the last 30 minutes before close. The night version with Toy Story Land all lit up is honestly the better ride anyway.
Slinky Dog Dash
Every drop sequence is randomized, so no two rides are the same — ride it once in daylight and once after dark when the Sunset Boulevard neon is glowing. Lines drop hard during Fantasmic showtimes; that's your window.
The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror
Use the single-rider line — it's routinely a 10-15 minute wait versus an hour standby, and every seat flies the same Falcon. Ask a cast member for the pilot position if you're with kids; the engineer seats barely do anything.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Reservations open 60 days out and vanish in minutes — set an alarm for 6am Eastern. If you missed out, walk up right at park open or check the app for same-day drops around 2pm. The Fuzzy Tauntaun's buzzy foam is a rite of passage.
Oga's Cantina
You eat in a ‘convertible’ under a fake night sky watching vintage sci-fi trailers — kids and adults both love it. Hack: book a late-afternoon time; it's the best air-conditioned rest stop in the park, and the milkshakes carry the meal.
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
The breakfast bowls and lunch totchos here beat most sit-down meals in the park for half the price — mobile order the second you're in the gates because pickup windows fill fast. The s'mores french toast sandwich is the sleeper hit.
Woody's Lunch Box

50's Prime Time Café
If there are two showings, ALWAYS pick the second — the first is packed an hour early while the late show walks right in. Sit center-back if you can; the water screens wash out from the front rows, and everyone gets a little wet up there.

Building your own R-series or BB-series droid (~$120) is the best souvenir-per-dollar in Galaxy's Edge — and your droid beeps and reacts as you walk the land afterward. Reserve ahead; walk-ins rarely fit on busy days.
