Start here: buy your ticket online, arrive 45 minutes before official open, and head straight to the back of the park. Everyone clusters at the first rides they see - the locals' move is to ride the far side first and work backward.

The crown jewel of Diagon Alley. Rope drop it first thing or wait until the last hour - midday waits hit 90+ minutes. The queue itself is half the show, so don't do single rider your first time through.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™ in Diagon Alley
The single rider line here is the best-kept secret in the park - I've walked on in under 10 minutes when the posted wait was an hour. Indoor coaster, killer launch, and the AC is a bonus in July.
Revenge of the Mummy | Universal Studios Florida™
Secret song hack: after you pick your track, press and hold the ride logo on the screen for about 10 seconds - a hidden menu with 100+ extra songs pops up. Type in a number and enjoy. You're welcome.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
The last E.T. ride left on Earth, and pure nostalgia. Tell the attendant your name at the start - E.T. says goodbye to you personally at the end. Hit it in the last hour when waits drop to nearly nothing.
E.T. Adventure
Underrated cool-down stop. It uses a virtual line, so grab a time in the app and hang in the air-conditioned lounge with the Ragtime Gals barbershop quartet and Hashtag the Panda while you wait. Great midday escape from the heat.
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
The best stunt show Universal has ever done - the blend of live stunts and that giant LED screen genuinely fools your eyes. Get in line 15 minutes before showtime and it doubles as a 25-minute AC break.
The Bourne Stuntacular
The funniest 25 minutes in any Orlando park - it's as much a comedy show as a movie-magic lesson. Sit near the front if you dare, and duck in around 1-2pm when the Florida sun is at its meanest.
Universal Orlando's Horror Make-Up Show
Best quick-service food in the park, hands down. Hack: eat lunch at 11am or after 2pm to dodge the rush, get the Fisherman's Pie, and order a frozen Butterbeer here instead of standing in the outdoor cart lines.
Leaky Cauldron™
Skip the regular ice cream carts - this Diagon Alley parlour has butterbeer soft-serve you can't get anywhere else, plus wild flavors like Earl Grey & Lavender. The line moves fast even when it looks long.
Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour
If you want the wand-chooses-the-wizard ceremony, hit the Diagon Alley location right when the park opens - only one person per show gets picked, and small morning groups mean way better odds for your kid.
Ollivanders™ Wand Shop
Money-saving heads-up: you need a park-to-park ticket to ride the train to Hogsmeade. Worth it - the two directions show completely different scenes out the window, so ride it both ways.
Hogwarts Express: King's Cross Station
Traveling with little ones? Take them here first thing while the big kids sprint to the coasters - you'll have the Trolls and Shrek areas practically to yourselves. The water play zone is a lifesaver on hot afternoons, so pack a change of clothes.

Coaster hack: Rip Ride Rockit and the Gringotts security check make you stash EVERYTHING. A clear crossbody sails through bag check faster and slips in lockers easily - I never do a park day without one.
