My dryer was running so hot the laundry room felt like a sauna. Pulled the vent hose off the back and found a lint clog the size of my fist — these kits made the whole job take twenty minutes.

Here's what nobody told me — dryer sheets leave a waxy film on your lint screen that blocks airflow even when it looks clean. Hold yours under running water. If the water pools instead of flowing through, you need these.

After I cleaned the vent and screen, I stuck my head in the drum and found lint caked around the edges and behind the baffles. Apparently that's a thing. These handled it without me having to disassemble anything.

The gap between my dryer drum and the door seal was basically a lint highway. Stuff was packed in there so tight I needed something thin and flexible to dig it all out without scratching anything.

Cleaned everything inside only to find the outside vent cover was clogged with lint and had a bird nest starter kit in it. Replacing the cover kept critters out and airflow moving the way it should.

Pulled my old vinyl hose off and it basically crumbled in my hands — turns out those ribbed foil ones trap lint in every ridge. Upgrading the hose itself made a bigger difference than I expected.

Found out dryer fires are one of the top causes of house fires and immediately panicked. Cleaned everything, added a few safety layers, and now I actually feel okay leaving the house while a load runs.

Even after cleaning everything, my laundry room stayed humid and warm. Turns out the room itself needs airflow too — otherwise you're just recycling hot moist air and making your dryer work harder than it needs to.

Once I went through the whole deep clean ordeal, I swore I'd stay on top of it. These are the things I keep in a bin next to my dryer so maintenance takes five minutes instead of becoming another emergency.

After fixing the dryer situation I realized half my lint problem started before clothes even went in — pet hair and fuzz were clogging everything faster. These catch it on the front end so my dryer doesn't have to work overtime.
