I love reading thrillers and most recently discovered historical fiction. Here are books that left me with either my jaw on the ground or tears in my eyes.
It transports you back in time to World War II from the perspective of two French sisters. The love story paired with the dangers of being in a war zone really does tug at your heart. The writing is so vivid you can almost see it as you're reading it...
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, Paperback
One of my favorite thrillers, the ending is such a twist my jaw was on the floor!
The Only One Left: A Novel|Hardcover
I love Leann Morgan, this book had me laughing throughout it!
What in the World?!: A Southern Woman's Guide to Laughing at Life's Unexpected Curveballs and Beautiful Blessings|Hardcover
Written in the Great Depression era, this book is both heartbreaking and inspiring book I've read.
The Four Winds: A Novel|Hardcover
Not at all the ending I expected! I love when I'm reading a book and I think I've figured out who did it, only to find out I was so wrong.
The Perfect Marriage|Hardcover
If you love WW2 historical fiction, from the perspective of those fleeing to save themselves, this one is a perfect fit!
The Book of Lost Names|Paperback
This book is beautifully written! It tells about the eugenics in the United States in the early 1900's, set primarily in Virginia. I couldn't put this one down!
The Lies They Told|Hardcover
I'm not a big sci-fi fan, but this book was so cute and well done! I'm eager to watch the movie and also read the Martian by Andy Weir.
Project Hail Mary|Hardcover
I would not recommend listening to this in an audio format. I feel had I read the physical book I would have been sucked in more. It does help you see a different perspective on influencers today, and the ending is a huge twist.
