Best first board game for 2-3 year olds: cooperative, straightforward, and pretty fun! For about 6 months, I was focused on corralling the fruit from wherever it landed, and then I pretty much gave up.

Starting at age 4 until whenever. We sometimes play this at dinner (to encourage sitting at the table) and one of the benefits is that my kid is better at it than any adult.

Ages 5+ Fun slap the match game which only seems to end when we cut it off. I enjoy that the cards are cut into bread shapes.

My 6 year old will play this any day of the week. Lots of rules, but ultimately a dice / strategy game.
