The ice maker on my refrigerator has been broken for a couple years now. One day, I got tired of making ice cubes manually and searched for a countertop solution. This one came with great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I’m hooked!
Things I love about it:
- compact and stylish. It fits nicely on my counter beside the fridge and the stainless steel exterior blends in with my other appliances
- ease of cleaning. The built in cleaning cycle and drain port make cleaning this unit easy and quick.
- speed and quantity of ice. Amazing! The first cubes are made in a matter of minutes and the ice container will fill up in about an hour.
I pack any excess ice up in a freezer bag and store. This way I only run the run the unit about 2-3 time a week and have 3 1-gallon zip bags standing by in the freezer.
Pro Tip: there have been a lot of complaints about freezing the ice. It does make fairly wet ice. I shake the ice basket well to remove as much water as possible before transferring the ice into a freezer bag. Then about 20-30 mins after sticking i...
