This is a great idea to keep things out of the landfill and reuse and upcycle old craft materials. They get a lot of really good stuff for donations and their facebook page keeps you updated on what's new on the sales floor.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden: One of the top gardens in the US
Free to visit and there's always some new exhibit to see. They also have a nice cafe and restaurant.

This is a fun place to play for kids, and it encourages creativity.

A good place to take kids, there are a lot of hands-on exhibits.

A nice, quiet museum which is also good for small wedding receptions!
