Training Methods

It took me a few years to find the right training method for me and my horses. The TRT Method is my favorite! It works so well, my horses respond super well to Tristian Tuckers method.

The TRT Method helped my relationship with my gelding and so I could get him to respect me without being harsh. This method changed the way I train the rest of my horses and my gelding. My horses respond so well to this and I love it!

Desensitization Tools

Densenitizing is one of the most important things to do with your horse. It teaches them to be able to keep calm in stressful and scary situations.

Flags work amazing for desensitizing. Most horses are scared of things flapping around in the wind and coming near them. So this works well! You just needs tons of patience.

This whip works well for horses that are scared of whips or have had trauma with them. Almost all my horses has trauma with them, and this whip is not harsh. I show it to them until they are comfortable with it and rub them with it so show it will no...

I like this whip because it is more flexible and can make more noise to desensitize the horse to the sound the whip makes when we snap it, I do not get close enough to hit the horse. I keep it far away to start so they don't get as scared.

This isn't really a desensitizing tool, but I put this in my arena and filled it with water for my 2 year old, and he LOVED it! He loved splashing in it and putting his foot in. This is great!

I have the duck, and my 2 year old is obsessed with him. I put the duck in the kitty pool and he swam around and at first my 2 year old wasn't a fan, but he quickly warmed up!

Halters and Lead ropes

Here are my favorite halter and lead ropes!

I used this halter to halter train my gelding. I like to use nylon halters instead of rope halters at first because I find that rope halters overwhelm them.

I like using breakaway halters for horses that are learning to tie, so if they freak out or pull back they will not hurt their neck or get injured. It is easier to catch a loose horse than to heal an injured one.

I like to use rope halters when they are halter broke and know how to lead. It gives a little more control than a nylon halter.

This is my favorite lead rope ever, I like that its long, so if my horse tries to pull a funny move I can hold on a little better.

When my gelding was still a colt, he would try to get away to the mares. So when I had the stud chain on I could keep him in control without being too harsh.

Training Tools

My favorite training tools!

I'm going to use a surcingle to prepare my gelding for his first ride when he's older. Surcingles teach them where to keep their head and their lefts and rights. Which is super important of for them to know before you get on them.

I love this lunge line! You can also use it for the surcingle and long lining. You just need two of them.

I love having salt licks for my horses, it provides them entertainment and they get thirsty since it's salt so they drink more!

Another one of my horses favorites! My 2 year old gelding snuck into these over night and ate the whole bag! He got a little chunky, but I'm sure he loved it. I usually split these in half for youngsters because it is still a little hard.

All my horses love these! Especially the peppermint ones. I just don't recommend giving these to youngsters under 3 years old because they still are still loosing their baby teeth and their teeth are pretty sensitive.
