Baseball

Baseball is the sport that I have the most experience and what I go to college to play. I can recommend things from t-ball to travel ball and all the way up to college because I have done it all. If you are a parent and are trying to get your kid sta...

Trending bats

These are the hottest bats on the market right now for all ages.

This bat has a huge sweet spot and is one of the hottest bats in all age groups.

This is a very balanced bat and is good for people like me that aren't as big and are more contact hitters. This is personally the bat that I use in college right now. The newer versions of the bat are more durable but all versions have good pop.
2024 DeMarini Voodoo® One (-3) BBCOR Bat

This bat has probably the most pop in the game right now. It is very light weight and punishes baseballs. It is also very durable compared to some of the other bats.
2023 Louisville Slugger Atlas (-3) BBCOR Baseball Bat

The goods one piece is a very well-known bat for power hitters. Its end loaded weight allows for power hitters to hit baseballs very far when they are in the zone.

For younger age groups this is by far the best bat on the market right now.

For t-ball bats I would recommend Rawlings. These are the bats I used as a kid, and they are very durable. The durability is more important than the pop at this age.

The CatX is a really popular bat in the game right now. It is a balanced and has a lot of pop. The only complaint I would have is the sound when you hit the ball makes a really loud ping sound.

Quality Fielding Gloves

For gloves I usually have stuck with Wilson but this last season I recently got a Rawlings heart of the hide glove. Both of these options are good for the infield which is what I play, but for outfielders I would go with an A200. Infield gloves are g...

This is personally the glove I will be using for the 2023 season. It is a little cheaper than other gloves on the market and it is made out of quality leather. There are a lot of different color options available.

The A2k was a glove that lasted me all four years of high school and is my top recommendation when it comes to gloves. It is a little more money, but it is definitely worth it.
2022 A2K SC1786 11.5" Infield Baseball Glove

Corey Hodierne profile picture
This is the best outfield glove out there. It is durable and has the extra length to get to baseballs when tracking them down. The A200 is also good as an infield glove.

2nd place when it comes to quality in the infield. A little cheaper option.

Batting Gloves

No batting gloves seem to last more than a season but these are the ones I have found to last the longest.

Corey Hodierne profile picture
These are hands down the strongest and best batting gloves no matter what anyone says. These will last you 3 times the amount of time as other batting gloves.
Bruce Bolt Batting Gloves

These are the only other option for durable batting gloves. Plus, you can get the warranty from dicks sporting goods and get new ones every time they rip.

For younger players getting cheap batting gloves from Walmart is a good option. They will last you a good bit while you are trying to figure out where you are going with baseball.

Helmets

I would encourage getting a helmet that has a C-flap because I have seen too many kids get hit in the face over the years of playing.

Corey Hodierne profile picture
This is the helmet that I use. You can switch the flap on either side. This is beneficial for switch hitters.
Rawlings Mach Batting Helmet with EXT Flap

Corey Hodierne profile picture
This is personally the helmet that I use. I like the way it fits and the way it looks. The helmet does not matter that much just make sure there is a flap to protect the jaw.

Cleats

If you are going with comfort I would go for some new balances and if you are going for light weight and speed, I would go with adidas.

Corey Hodierne profile picture
These are good for training off the field in a batting cage or on a turf field.
New Balance Turf Shoes

Corey Hodierne profile picture
These are really good for comfort and I needed new balance cleats as a kid because I had issues with my heel having pain.
New Balance Fresh Foam X 3000 v6 Metal Synthetics

These are the cleats that I always buy because they are very lightweight and feel like tennis shoes when you are playing. I highly recommend these cleats.
Adidas Adizero Cleats

Protective Wear

This is a very important section because getting hit with a baseball or fouling a baseball into yourself can be very painful. These are more important as you go up in age groups.

Elbow guards are very important for protecting the hitters elbow because the elbow is a very sensitive spot that can take you out for the season.

These are more used for protecting the hitter from foul balls of their bat.
Leg Guards

This is used for fast runners that steal bases. It protects the runners' fingers when they slide into bases.

Arm sleeves are used to compress the arm to protect it and it is also used for looks. I use it more for looks but people with arm pain actually need it.
