We prefer staying on the Southside (Wailea) due to the Kaanapali side being a bit busier.
Our favorite resort that has a little bit for everyone! Our toddlers love the kids pool. It can be pricey but the amenities and location are worth it for us.
Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, Maui
When we need more space and the comforts of our own kitchen, we love this property.

I always compare prices of hotels vs. condos and love using VRBO. There’s always a great selection of condos at so many price points. Plus if you’re already an Expedia member you get points to your account too

We’re big fans of Chef Sheldon Simeon and love his quaint, unassuming spot with quick to order meals. Perfect for when you just land and are looking for something quick and yummy.
Tin Roof Maui
Their pies are 🤤. Love that they have mini versions so you can try more than one flavor.
Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop
The BEST shave ice in Hawaii. Nothing compares to the soft texture of their ice and all the syrup flavors that actually taste like fruit and not artificial sugar.
Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice - Kihei
Great casual breakfast/brunch spot with large portions. Lines can get long but they do a good job to try to move efficiently.
Kihei Caffe
Their fish tacos are hard to beat! Perfectly cooked and flaky, the mango salsa pairs so well and the coleslaw adds great crunch. Portions are huge and 2 tacos is usually enough for me!
Coconuts Fish Cafe - Azeka Location
Quintessential restaurant in Paia (worth the drive from Wailea or Lahaina). Views are amazingggg and the food is delicious. It’s a splurge but worth it if it’s your first time
Mama's Fish House
All the Asian fusion menu items and drinks are delicious! Lots of options for kids and can be served family style. Whatever you order here is never going to miss.
Star Noodle
Located near the airport with several other food trucks. Better than the infamous Giovanni’s in Oahu in my opinion!
Geste Shrimp Truck
Their happy hour is great! The lilikoi foam mai tai is my favorite.
Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - Wailea, Maui
Great for a quick, hot meal and also has groceries available. Will always stop here prior to the beach for snacks.

Calm, shallow waters, great for kids to play in. Can get crowded with a smaller parking lot so plan ahead.
