I went through three flimsy screens that warped after a month before landing on these. The right splatter guard should sit flush, let steam out, and not slide off when you bump the handle.

Splatter screens cover the pan, but grease still sneaks sideways. These shields go around or behind the burner to catch what escapes. My white backsplash went from yellow-tinged to actually white again.

Half the battle is the pan itself. Warped pans with uneven surfaces make oil pool and pop. Once I upgraded my actual cookware, the splattering dropped by at least half before I even added a guard.

Sometimes you're deep frying or working with a wok and no screen is going to save you. That's when I started wearing actual protection. Felt silly for about ten seconds until I realized I hadn't flinched once.

Even with all this protection, grease finds a way sometimes. These are the cleaners I reach for when oil splatters onto the backsplash, counter, or that one spot on the floor I always miss.

Half of my splatter problems came from using too much oil or the wrong temperature. These tools helped me control the oil itself so there's less chaos to guard against in the first place.

A cluttered stovetop means things get knocked into hot oil or pans get bumped at the wrong moment. Once I cleared the area and organized properly, half my grease disasters stopped happening.
