Fantasy & Adventure
One of my longtime favorites. Cozy adventure, dragons, treasure, and reluctant weirdos being dragged into enormous problems. Apparently that’s all it takes to make me happy.
The Hobbit
A must-read classic! Strange discoveries, underground mysteries, and an adventure that still captures my imagination.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (Royal Collector's Edition) (Case Laminate Hardcover with Jacket)
Jules Verne really makes adventure fiction feel possible. One of my favorite classic reads, with fascinating underwater exploration and a wonderfully mysterious atmosphere.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Deluxe Hardbound Edition)
If you haven't read the Redwall series you're missing out, seriously go read it.Wonderful characters, incredible adventures, and a world I’ve enjoyed since I was young.
Redwall (Redwall Series #1)
One of my favorite series growing up. Very fun. I haven't finished the last one, but I swear I'll get to it soon. 😅
Eyes Like Stars (Theatre Illuminata Series #1)
I recommend most of R.A. Salvatore's books. A wonderful series, especially if you enjoy darker fantasy, complicated characters, and richly imagined worlds.
Homeland: Dark Elf Trilogy #1 (Legend of Drizzt #1)
Another classic series! Funny, adventurous, and a great introduction to Greek mythology. Especially good for teens, but entertaining at any age.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians 5 Book Paperback Boxed Set (new covers) (B&N Exclusive Edition)
I don’t have this exact boxed set, and apparently this is how I discovered there’s another book! Already ordered. 😂 A longtime favorite fantasy world filled with dragons, magic, and adventure.
World of Eragon 5-Book Paperback Boxed Set: Eragon; Eldest; Brisingr; Inheritance; Murtagh
A classic series that I think everyone should try reading at least once. I especially like this particular boxed set.
Harry Potter Special Edition Paperback Boxed Set: Books 1-7
A classic series that I think everyone should try reading at least once. There are cheaper options, I just prefer hardcovers.
The Chronicles of Narnia Box Set
I REALLY need to finish this series! I enjoyed its darker take on faeries, with all the intrigue, danger, and complicated relationships.
Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely Series #1)
Yes, I know. I don't care. My little emo heart will forever love twilight. It's ridiculous, and dumb, and kinda creepy. I've always been Team Carlisle. ❤️ book Bella > movie Bella.
The Twilight Saga Complete Collection
A classic must-read. Just don’t get the collectible edition with the blue and gold cover! It’s full of spelling errors. The story itself is fantastic, with betrayal, revenge, and one of literature’s most memorable plots.
The Count of Monte Cristo
I was obsessed with Greeks and Romans in middle School. I've read this more times than I can count. One of the greatest adventure stories of all time; filled with monsters, gods, dangerous journeys, and impossible odds.
The Odyssey: Translated by Emily Wilson
Mystery & Thriller
A must-read! Very strange, but I enjoyed it greatly. The unusual formatting and unsettling story make this one unlike almost anything else on my bookshelf.
House of Leaves (Remastered Full-Color Edition)
A mystery with an interesting setting and a strong sense of atmosphere. A good pick if you enjoy investigations with cultural and historical elements.
The Blessing Way (Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee Series #1)
One of my all-time favorites! I have a particular weakness for mysteries involving entire towns that seemingly disappear. Creepy, mysterious, and exactly my kind of story.
Phantoms book by Dean Koontz
Sci Fi & Dystopian
I'm not a Star Wars girly, but my husband begged me to read these and I'm glad I did. Fantastic series and really opened me up to the Star Wars book universe.
Hard Contact: Star Wars Republic Commando #1
Another Fantastic Star Wars book if you are getting into them. Two words. Space zombies.
Death Troopers: Star Wars Legends
A powerful story about censorship, conformity, and the importance of critical thinking. One of those classics that leaves you with plenty to think about.
Fahrenheit 451: A Novel
Bradbury inspired me to become a writer. I have multiple collections of his books, but I chose this one specifically because it has "The Veldt" and “There Will Come Soft Rains”.
The Stories of Ray Bradbury: Introduction by Christopher Buckley
I bought this specifically for Harrison Bergeron, but ended up enjoying the collection as a whole. Strange, thought-provoking stories with Vonnegut’s unmistakable style.
Welcome to the Monkey House: The Special Edition
My husband recently got me into this series, and I’m enjoying it so far. An interesting mix of fantasy, suspense, and unusual ideas that keep me curious about where the story is going.
The Circle Series 4-in-1: The Complete Series Including Black, Red, White, and Green
A disturbing premise that sounds almost simple until you start thinking about it. A group of boys must keep walking, and the consequences of stopping are horrifying. Exactly the kind of psychological horror that sticks with you.
The Long Walk
Science fiction, mystery, and an unlikely friendship wrapped into one incredible adventure. The problem-solving and humor make this a particularly fun read, even when the stakes are enormous.
Project Hail Mary
A completely ridiculous premise that somehow works brilliantly. Deadly dungeon challenges, dark humor, bizarre creatures, and a cat named Princess Donut. What more could you want?
Dungeon Crawler Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl Series #1)
Ive recently rekindled my love for this book.
I think this was my first dystopian book and I've been hooked ever since. I'm currently reading as a bedtime story for my kids and they can't get enough.
An underground city, a failing supply of light,...
The City of Ember (Books of Ember Series #1)
18+ Romance
Yes, sometimes it's trash, but it's my trashy romance.
My favorite romance series so far! Demons, angels, headstrong women, and an actual plot. I’ve read every book in the series so far, and it’s a wonderfully entertaining mix of paranormal romance and fantasy. I even have the butterfly tattoo myself.
The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld Series #1)
I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is! Dragons, danger, romance, and plenty of drama. This one surprised me in the best way.
Fourth Wing
I’ve read most of the Highlander series, but this one was the standout book for me. A wonderful mix of romance, fantasy, and Scottish atmosphere.
The Highlander's Touch (Highlander Series #3)
This is one of the first books that opened the door to paranormal romance for me. It holds a special place on my bookshelf for that reason, and I still have a soft spot for the series.
Heart of the Wolf
Scottish Highlands, werewolves, and paranormal romance? What more could a girl want? 🤭
