The Japanese gardens at the Fort Worth botanical gardens offer peace and beauty at the same time. The plants chosen, the building design and the gorgeous arch bridge are so calming.

The Dallas arboretum is vast. There are houses on the property. There's part of the lake on the property. They do seasonal landscaping. If you choose to visit, wear walking shoes, bring a hat, water bottle, and check the weather before you go.

The Oak Cliff Nature Preserve is a little piece of heaven and quiet tucked into the populated Dallas area. I found it by accident in the middle of a very trying day. I have been back since then, and it is always very pleasant.
