Drilling into concrete block walls had me sweating. But once I figured out the right bracket and anchors, the whole thing took maybe 45 minutes. My TV looks like it was professionally installed and I spent less than a nice pizza on the hardware.

Basement acoustics are weird. The concrete bounces sound everywhere and dialogue gets lost in the echo. I spent a while reading forums before landing on a combo that actually makes voices clear without shaking the ceiling above.

Flipping the basement lights off made it pitch black, which was great for the screen but terrible for finding the remote or not tripping over the dog. A few cheap lighting additions made the whole room feel intentional instead of just dark.

Nobody wants to watch a three-hour movie on a metal folding chair. My original plan was a used couch from a neighbor but it smelled like cat. These options turned the basement into a place people actually want to hang out.

The theater room felt 90% done until I realized we kept running upstairs for drinks and snacks. A few small additions made it so we could settle in and not move for hours. That last 10% made all the difference.
