Basic Emergency Supplies
These are some of the absolute basics you should have in your emergency kit.
Stay warm in an emergency situation!
These glow sticks keep the world illuminated and are waterproof.
Highly recommend having a lantern/flashlight on hand
Always have a way to start a fire
We store water, but if it runs out before help arrives, a way to make water safe is essential.

A lighter is very useful to have.
First Aid Stuff
If there is an emergency, it's likely there will be injuries. I highly recommend keeping at least a basic first aid kit on hand.
It's good to have gloves for messy situations
Always have bandaids available!

Emergency Food and Drink
You're supposed to have enough food and water for three days per person. I like to buy in bulk to make sure we have enough, and rotate it out with our regular food.
Keep 1 gallon of water per person, per day.

Trail mix keeps energy levels up.
These crackers last for a long time in the emergency kit.
Beef sticks are a good source of protein for everyone.
I know my kids will eat these, so I keep them on hand.
Perfect for eating with crackers.
If necessary, this can be eaten cold, but it's also easy to heat in the can over a fire.
As long as you have water to boil, you can easily make these noodles.
Other Useful Emergency Items
Some things aren't a must-have, but can certainly be useful. Here's what I like to have in my emergency kit, on top of everything else.
Protect your hands if you're digging through rubble and lifting pieces of wood and concrete.
A folding shovel fits in the kit and is helpful to have.
