READ CONTENT WARNING
Plot:
When Bellamy finds her ailing father wandering aimlessly around the King of Messalina's palace, that's bad enough. This is evidence of the illness that has plagued him since her mother was killed and has only gotten worse since.
When she then breaks an irreplaceable piece of art...it only gets worse. This is the home of the royal family that had been in a state of hiding since the Queen was killed due to a curse that had plagued the family since the dawn of the country.
By the end of the day, what Bellamy doesn't expect is to be offered a job to be the nanny to the Kings three children.
While the children are lovely and there is an instant connection, King Sebastian is another story, living up to his reputation as a reclusive beast. His only soft spots are for his children, and when Bellamy almost instantly wins their approval, the...
Will Bellamy win the heart of a man that has all but banished any signs of life from the castle? Can King Sebastian break down the walls he has famously erected around his family, and himself? Will this lead to a happily ever after? Or is the suppos...
-Odes to the original story in a contemporary world
-Dual POV
-Overarching plot
-HOT 🌶️🌶️🔥🔥
-Tension
-Angst
-Banter
-Dichotomy in both MC's
-Possessive MMC
-Strong FMC (reminds me of Kate Middleton)
-Good depictions of grief
-Shows the ups and downs of a relationship
-Get to see family dynamics
-Get to know the next book's characters/plots
Con's:
-Wish angst/tension lasted longer for the enemies to lovers trope
-Feels like the initial hurdle that the duo has to get over was good easy
-Some scenes seem superfluous
Would I Recommend This Book?:
YES!!!! It's one of the best duos I've read in recent memory. I can't wait to read Rowan's book, Midnight Prince, due to be released in May 2026! A Cinderella retelling!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
