Used for the yellow patch background behind acorn and light fur around mouth. If yellow is still too bright, I use a small amount of white to dilute brightness.
If color is too bright, I add a dash of black. If color is too dark, I add a dash of white.
Mouth (Color- Burgundy)
Materials
Sanded down cones to remove black wording and create a rough surface for paint to stick.
Base of Cone (Made of hard plastic)
Used one thick layer to seal in paint.
High Gloss Clear Coat
I removed the metal hook and cut a hole around half the ornament to sit flush against the cone. I then sanded down the edges of the plastic and secured with hot glue all around bottom of ornament.
Helmet
Used to sculpt the flower on top of Sandy's helmet and her tail.
Flower & Tail (Clay- white)
Used to cut hole into ornament for helmet.
Precision Knife
Tools
Used to paint tiny areas, while having control on where to place paint.
Fine Tip Brushes
Blue brush is my go to fine liner for outlining. Dotting tool on other side is great for highlights in eyes.
Detail Brushes & Dotting Tool
Used to mix / stir paint. I enjoy this method better than using my paint brush, so brush will not have any excess paint stuck in bristle.
Popsicle Sticks to Mix/ Stir Paint
Use sandpaper to rough up smooth surfaces in order for paint to stick better. If you paint on a smooth surface, paint will easily peel off.
Sandpaper for Textured Paint Surface
Used to glue on plastic helmet and clay pieces to cone.
