I am 3 weeks postpartum today, so these are my must haves for the first 3 weeks of my newborns life.

Clothing
I honestly wouldn't worry about fancy outfits, just make sure you have the essentials
Get lots of singlets (with buttons as ones without slide up their belly) - You need a lot of these as babies go through lots of changes throughout the day
Singlets
Stock up on the zip up onesies - even better if they come with 2 zips
NB Onesies
Baby needs to be wearing a hat to leave the hospital - I find that I need multiple hats because they seem to always get misplaced!
NB hats
Reccomend having some long sleeve body suits to add another layer during the colder days
Long Sleeve Body Suit
Essentials
These are what I use pretty much on a daily basus apart from the bath time stuff :)
The amount of nappies I have been through in just 3 weeks is insane! One nappy change can sometimes use more than 1 clean nappy, so be prepared!
Size 1 Nappies
Just like the nappies, we run through so many wipes!
Wipes
I'd recommend having a few of these, not just for sleeping but also for bath times to help recreate the womb
Muslin Swaddles
I have a reflux baby so these are laying around all over the house
Burp Cloths
Sudocrem has healed nappy rash overnight for my baby
SUDOCREM
For the dry newborn skin
Vaseline
I use multiple towels in one bathtime, one for ontop of the bath chair, one to dry and one to go ontop of baby in the water
Hooded Baby Towel
Essential for bath time, if you don't want to bath then a cloth wash is just fine :)
Washcloths
Breast pump, even if you're not planning on pumping. It's good to pump to ease the pain in your breasts
Breast Pump
Storage bags for after pumping
Breastmilk Storage bags
Keep your hands clean for those nappy changes
Hand Sanitiser
Nappy bag for your outings
Nappy Bag
Recommend taking a portable change mat with you on your outings for hygiene reasons and also comfort for your baby.
Change Mat
Remember, you don't have to bath your baby everyday :)
Bath Tub
Putr this in the bath for support

Things to make it easier
Not really a neccessity but definitely helps!
I use white noise machine every night to help recreate the womb
White noise machine
Lay your baby down in a way they can see these flash cards, it will give you a bit of time to yourself and also help develop their brain!
Black and White Flashcards
This is definitely not a must need but I have 3 in my house and I find them so good!
Nappy Caddy
Pop your baby down on one of these while you have a snack
Play Mat
Give this to your refluxy baby before feeds, it works wonders
