Favorites for Feeding
Feeding recommendations I have gathered over the years as a pediatric occupational therapist and parent. Recs available from breastfeeding through first foods and beyond!
This cup allows caregivers to squeeze fluid into straw to help promote learning to suck from a straw. I would pick this cup over a sippy cup every time.
Another adorable option for learning straw drinking. Think small hands, small tools.
The sections in this plate can help slow down a child who overstuffs and can help with trying new foods by placing the new food in one of the sections surrounded by preferred foods.
These are great for introducing the idea of a spoon. The grooves help hold some of the food on the spoon and the child is given the control which can limit overwhelm.
These offer texture, are small tools and can be used dry or with food when introducing spoons.
The weights in this plate provide stability and discourage tossing the plate. Parents will still need to be close by and set limits regarding tossing plates.
Here is a set with a weighted bowl and weighted plate. The sides are curved to allow for easier scooping of food.
Dr. Brown's bottles provide a better shaped nipple and are generally recommended by therapists and doctors.
Sometimes the Preemie Flow nipples work better when transitioning back and forth from Breast to Bottle.
These Transition nipples can also help with transitioning between bottle and breast.
This was by far the best pump I used when nursing. I love that it comes with a bag. Be sure to check with flex pay and insurance to see what may be covered under your plan.
This would be an option to help with positioning for nursing. Early on it can be tricky to find a good position for mom and baby and this can help.
These are great to wear on one side while nursing on the other to catch any leaking milk.
I love to start with offering stick shaped foods when transitioning to solids.
This chair is awesome as it gets baby up to the table and grows with them through toddler hood! It is a favorite among therapists everywhere!
