I have been cooking and baking (and eating a lot 😏) ever since I was a kid and it is a passion of mine that I also really love to share with others. I'm starting to collect a variety of resources, tools, and books that I have encountered and found helpful or interesting throughout my cooking journey so far. Enjoy!
Baking

I kind of can't believe that I waited so long to get into canning but I'm just so glad the time has finally arrived. This past summer we had a massive haul of pears from the trees in our pasture and I got to learn a lot about canning in a very short time! 🤯 This article really helped me to understand the basics.
I had the pleasure of making and canning several batches of pear butter over this past summer and I'm already hoping for the chance to do it again next year! This recipe was simple and easy to follow and I felt it was a great place to start as a beginner to the canning world.
Cooking
If you don't have one of these already, you need to get one. This thing saves me so much time and energy, especially when cooking with a lot of garlic (which I always do).
This thing is a life-saver! Quite literally! How many times have I almost lost my hand while trying to slice a bagel with a bread knife? I lost count and then I got this bagel slicer and now, thank goodness, I'm safe. 😅
These have been SO HELPFUL in the kitchen! There's pretty much one type for every kind of food you're making and the heat resistant silicone makes it easy to work with hot pans without damaging the finish (or melting the spatula).
Not only has this been a great tool for our smoothies, soups, and purees; my boyfriend even started making pizza dough and we also love the single-serving cup for protein shakes and frozen coffee drinks as well!
