The whole reason I started this list. I was so tired of readjusting ice packs every two minutes while trying to watch TV after a long run. These actually grip your knee and let you move around a little without everything falling apart.

Pairing compression with cold was the thing nobody told me about for the first year of my recovery. Once I figured that out, the swelling went down twice as fast.

I literally timed every gel pack I bought with a kitchen timer because I got sick of packs going warm after 15 minutes. These are the ones that actually held their temperature.

Some days my knee wants ice. Other days it wants heat. Having one wrap that does both saved me from cluttering my freezer and my closet with separate products.

Finding a brace that doesn't bunch up or interfere with an ice pack took embarrassingly long. These play nice together so you can brace and ice at the same time.

Nobody talks about this enough, but elevating your knee while icing makes a huge difference. I was flat on my back icing for months before a nurse told me to prop it up. Felt silly for not knowing sooner.

Icing at home is easy. Icing at work, at a tournament, or on a flight is where things get tricky. These are small enough to travel with and actually do their job away from your freezer.

My physical therapist told me to apply topical anti-inflammatory stuff before icing because the cold helps it absorb deeper. I was skeptical but the difference was noticeable within a week.

Icing alone wasn't cutting it for me. Adding a few recovery tools to my routine made the icing sessions way more effective and sped up how fast I bounced back between workouts.

Sounds silly but wearing the wrong pants while icing is genuinely annoying. Tight jeans plus an ice pack equals misery. These make icing sessions comfortable enough that you actually do them consistently.

At one point I had six ice packs, three bags of frozen vegetables, and a pint of ice cream all fighting for space. Organizing the freezer specifically for ice pack rotation made my whole system work better.

Reading about why icing works and how to rehab properly made me way more consistent with my routine. Knowledge turned icing from a chore into something I actually understood and committed to.
