10-15 minutes setup per shelf, no tools required. Extremely sturdy. I had the same exact brand of shelves in my basement for 15 years and they held up beautifully. I just bought four of these for my new condo online from Home Depot and had them delivered same day for free (so I didn't even have to step foot in Home Depot!).
