Such a cool project built right on the spot that was the port of slave trading ships. I can think of nothing better to make of that space. It's a fantastic addition and long overdue.

The first museum in the US and the special exhibits from a program dating back to 1773 is always interesting.

Quiet and Quaint. Beautiful boardwalks to the ocean. Few waves and lots of beach for kids to play.
Sullivan's Island
Most tourist and busy but has an EXCELLENT county park beach access with showers, snacks, playground and lifeguards (the public beaches outside of parks don't have them).
Isle of Palms: A Top Resort & Miles of Oceanfront Fun
I grew up at this beach, so I may be partial, but the traffic gets insane to get there during the day. Go early or stay out there. Kitschy and funky
