I found this book to be a super accessible read that goes into the importance of giving priority to loving yourself.  The author is very vulnerable with her writing and shares some of her personal stories to help the reader really understand the concepts.  I felt so understood by this book, and highly recommend to any people pleasers, people who struggle with guilt, or those of you who just need to be nicer to yourself :)

If you are struggling with past trauma, this book is for you.  The author goes into detail about how CPTSD effected her life and how she worked to cope with it.  It is a very raw book, but if CPTSD is something you may be struggling with, this book will help you feel understood and give hope.

If you have a complicated relationship with your parents or have been dealing with overcoming some childhood trauma, this book may help you understand your parents better and learn how you can cope and interact with them (if you choose to).  It does a great job breaking down the types of immature parents and the lasting effects they could have on you as an adult.

This is a different type of self-help book that starts with the author's experience in a concentration camp in WWII.  His experience gives perspective to the human experience and what really motivates us.  Through suffering, there is meaning.  This is a pretty quick read, but contains profound concepts that may change the way you think.

It seems like a pretty self explanatory concept, but in actuality, most of us are pretty hard on ourselves. This book delves into the science of self-compassion, cutting yourself a break, and just being kinder to you.  It is a great book that everyone should read, and maybe the world would be a nicer place :)

This should be a must read for every student in the United States.  I learned so much about US history in this book that I was not taught in school.  The approach it takes promotes students to question the black and white history we are taught and to look into all of the grey and think critically about what actually happens.  It also goes into the textbook industry to uncover why this is a problem in the first place.
