The rainy weekends in Dallas during the first few months of 2025 forced me to compile things to do indoors with my teenager and other family. But the same items will work just as well when it gets suffocatingly hot in the summer months.

Museums and Learning Attractions
Great science musuem with hands-on stuff and fun like racing a virtual dinosaur and experiencing a faux earthquake.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science
W is quite the artist and the collection of his works is always the highlight for me.
George W. Bush Presidential Center
Not a huge time commitment and worth the trip into downtown Dallas
The Dallas World Aquarium
Always something for the art lovers and free base entry
Dallas Museum of Art
A sobering but important US history event
The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza
Much like the 6th Floor Musuem, an emotionally difficult learning activity that is nevertheless well worth the time.
Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum
A less well-known musuem gem in the DFW area
Frontiers of Flight Museum
Multi-day pass for Perot, George W. Bush, and the Holocaust and Human Rights Musuems plus the Dallas Zoo and Reunion Tower. Good savings when there are multiple days of heat or rain on the way.
CityPASS® - See 4 Top Things to Do in Dallas and Save up to 51%
For Dallas residents with a Dallas Public Library card, a reservable pass for multiple musuems and other attractions available at no cost.
Culture Pass Dallas
In the northern suburbs of Dallas, but fun and history for those who love videogames
National Videogame Museum
Free, and fairly short, self-guided tours on weekdays if you are already going to be in the downtown Dallas area.
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
Pure Fun
Done three of these so far and never made it all the way through, but my family and I keep trying.
Sherlock's Escape Rooms Dallas
For a water-filled staycation in the DFW area.
Great Wolf Lodge
Lights, colors, and fun for all ages
Rainbow Vomit
On my bucket list of stuff to try (if I can ever get the husband over his fear of heights)
iFLY Indoor Skydiving - Dallas
Not exactly indoor fun, but cooling fans and better than average food choices still make it fun (particularly mornings before the crowds)
Topgolf Dallas
Eat with your hands and cheer for stuff you normally see only on tv
