My bedroom faces a busy road with three streetlights. I used to see orange glow through every curtain I tried. These actually killed it.

I didn't expect curtains to change my electric bill, but my AC was running nonstop in summer. Blocking the heat through windows made a noticeable difference.

Not every window is a big living room situation. My bathroom and kitchen windows needed coverage too, and standard 84-inch panels looked ridiculous there.

I had curtains I loved the look of but they let in all the light. Instead of replacing them, I added liners behind them. Kept the style, killed the light.

I hung perfect blackout curtains and light still leaked around the edges. Turns out the rod matters just as much as the fabric. These wrap-around styles fixed it.

My living room has an arched window that no standard curtain fits. Finding blackout solutions for non-rectangular windows took me way too long.

Sleeping great at home meant I noticed how terrible hotel rooms were. Light pouring in from every direction. Now I pack blackout gear like it's a toothbrush.

My daughter started fighting naps the second she moved to a toddler bed. Turns out her room was way too bright at 1 PM. Fixing the light situation fixed the nap situation.

Even with great curtains, light sneaks through the top, the bottom, and that center gap where two panels meet. These small fixes sealed the deal for total darkness.

Curtains handled the light, but I realized noise and temperature were also wrecking my sleep. These are the things I added after the curtains that completed the whole setup.
