Where to eat
This whole city is a foodie paradise so you can’t really go wrong but these are some of my favs!
My must hit brunch spot, their Benedict’s are to die for! There’s a ton of locations in the city but this is my fav because it’s in an old bank building and it’s a super easy walk from my favorite hotel to stay at!
Ruby Slipper
If you’re staying at the St. Pierre this is an easy walk and they have options for gluten free food which is not always a priority in NoLa. I’m not gluten free but my friends I traveled with are they loved their meals. I always get the chicken gumbo ...
Deanie's Seafood Restaurant in the French Quarter
Really cool historic building and the decor leans heavily into all the cool history! Good place to get a variety of local cuisines like jambalaya, gumbo, and muffulettas!
Napoleon House
This is the home of the original muffuletta and it is fantastic! My favorite sandwich in the world so please try one even if it’s not here
Central Grocery and Deli
Not the food you might think of right away when you think New Orleans but the option of gluten free fantastic crepes has to be mentioned for all my gluten free friends!
Holy Crepes! - Delight in Vegan Gluten-Free Crepes in New Orleans
You can get beignets plenty of places and maybe even better ones but this is one of those iconic stops you have to make at least once. Cash only and with exactly one food item on the menu and a few options for coffee it’s a quintessential New Orleans...
Cafe Du Monde
If you like seafood do yourself a favor and try the Scalibut their signature dish I’ve been dreaming about it ever since I had it
GW Fins
Where to stay
There’s only one recommendation in this section because I choose to only stay here when I’m in New Orleans
The St. Pierre is the PERFECT location for exploring the French Quarter, walking distance to all the major attractions and food and with all the glorious historic charm you could hope for
Hotel St. Pierre
Things To Do
There’s no shortage of things to do in this city and half the fun is just walking around and stumbling across things yourself but here’s a few of my favorite things to do to get you started!
As a night owl an art market that is only open at night is my dream! Open from like 7pm to midnight walk down Frenchman Street hear some live music and shop from some amazing local artisans! Heavy art and jewelry vendor presence but there’s a little ...
Frenchmen Art Bazaar
There’s so many places in New Orleans to see amazing jazz but I can only vouch for this one personally! You absolutely should make time for a jazz show while in town even if it’s not here! If you’re also planning to hit the Frenchman art bazaar this ...
Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro
This is my one recommendation that would require you to leave the French Quarter but I think it is well worth it! A small tour experience with super knowledgeable guides and an easy drive from downtown. We rented a car for the afternoon and drove out...
Airboat Tours By Arthur
If you’re into tarot my friend had an incredible reading here and they have a huge selection of tarot and oracle decks and guide books. Even if you’re not into that kind of stuff it’s still a really cool store and I found my new daily perfume here!
Sassy Magick
One of the oldest continuously operated bars in the country and a super cool building with a ton of great history and lore! There’s a piano in the back and it’s a super fun vibe to just chill and listen to great music, if you’re staying at the St. Pi...
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar
A very pretty park that often hosts concerts and various festivals! I stumbled across a jazz festival completely on accident there so be sure to check and see if there’s any cool activities or events going on there while you’re in town!
Louis Armstrong Park
The perfect place to eat and shop your way through! Down by the river it’s got a ton of food and other vendors and is the perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon just leisurely strolling through!
French Market
One of the iconic views of New Orleans and a great place to find street performers and artists! It’s worth a stroll around
