This list will be mostly Ryobi because it's the most affordable brand/system that provides a lot of options that go with the batteries. Buy a good battery and just buy the bare tools after. I've had many of these tools for years with no problems.
I've been using this for years. No more compressors! I've never had a problem with this tool, works as well as the day I bought it.
Works just as good as more expensive brands. Unfortunately the battery is small, so you'll want to upgrade that.

4.0 Ah battery means you'll have enough power for almost any small to medium job
ONE+ 18V HIGH PERFORMANCE Lithium-Ion 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger Starter Kit
I've had one of these for years. Incredible amount of light. Two intensities. Really handy for power outages as well. Works with battery or can be plugged in.
ONE+ 18V Hybrid 20-Watt LED Work Light (Tool-Only)
With different blades, you can cut through almost anything light you'll encounter. Very light, and easy to handle.
ONE+ 18V Cordless Orbital Jig Saw (Tool-Only)
Because the battery hold is in front of the trigger, you get hardly any arm fatigue and you can actually use the weight of the battery to keep pressure on what you're cutting. Great design
ONE+ 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw with 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger
I use this a lot for all of my quick jobs. Very quick windup and no cord to work around. Light duty.
ONE+ 18V Cordless Compact Fixed Base Router (Tool Only)
This is corded. The sliding compound gives you the ability to work with larger boards or beams.
RYOBI 15 Amp 12 in. Corded Sliding Compound Miter Saw with LED Cutline Indicator TSS121 - The Home Depot
This is what I have personally. It works through everything I give it and is still accurate as the day I bought it. Pricier, but well made.
15 Amp Corded 12 in. Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw, Blade Wrench and Material Clamp
Impact drivers are for when you need to drive large screws or big bolts. Light and compact, but delivers a lot more torque to do the job. You'll need ear defenders when using this.
