1. Colmar Alsace France
Underrated, spacious and quite detailed city.

Contains one of the largest automobille musuems. Nice city for shorter and less expensive stays, near the swiss border.

Charming city with lots of history and activities to do

Small town in Normandy not far from thw D-Day landing site. Charming, historical though might be overcrowded at times.
5. Honfleur, medieval and impressionist town in Normandy
Perhaps one of the most charming cities in Normandy.
6. Rouen, Normandy
Larger than Colmar and just as whimsical with it's blend of german and french architecture, worth visiting during the winter.

Cozy and historic, one of the larger cities in france close by to many historical sites and castles
