York is purportedly the most haunted city in the UK. Step through Monkgate, city walls, into over 2,000 years of history.
Founded by the Romans in AD 71, York bears the legacy of Viking warriors, Norman conquerors, and medieval England around every corner.
I’ve attempted to showcase the quirkier side of my ‘home from home’ as most of the famous landmarks are well advertised already, and are usually the reason so many visit York.
So, please let me know if you believe I’ve achieved avoiding being repetitive by not listing The Minster, Dungeons, Betty’s Teashop, Racecourse, Jorvik Viking Centre and Castle (to name a few). They are still great places to visit! Enjoy and I welcome good or negative comments.
