Christmas Shopping
This store is my go-to for gifts when I'm on a tight budget. I can get food, household products, beauty and grooming aids, seasonal decorations, and often I discover other neat little items I hadn't previously thought of.
Dollar Tree
This store has the best decorations to look through. I get lost in here for hours looking at decorative signs, shiny jewelry, stylish and rustic home décor, There is also a rather extensive collection of miniature train accessories.
Christmas Tree Hill at Camp Hill
I am often surprised with what I find here. They are very good at stocking unique, useful, or artistic finds that make great stocking stuffers.
Cracker Barrel: Home
This market sells more than just food. I've visited this place to buy books, fancy chocolates and candies, and to explore the various shops tucked away in different nooks. I've found an antique store and a coin collector's shop on the second floor, and I'm sure there's a toy store in here somewhere.
West Shore Farmers Market
I've gone to this extensive market year after year, and every time I go I find new treasures. There's food, hardware, art, home décor, country items, soap, furniture, and so many other items in this complex. Most of it is handmade or home cooked. I can never shop there without buying at least one thing for myself as I'm doing my Christmas shopping.
The Green Dragon Market
Inspiration/Art needs
This store has a variety of houseplants, garden supplies, garden décor, home décor, and patio furniture. Whenever I'm tired of winter I visit to get rid of my winter blues, and looking at the decorations gives me ideas for projects, redecorating, or reorganizing the house.
Stauffers of Kissel Hill
This is my go to art store. I've frequented this place ever since I was a kid, buying art supplies for school and saving my allowance to buy another dragon figurine for my collection. They have materials for framing, painting, jewelry, knitting, science kits, scrapbooking, wedding prep, baking, flower arrangements, and more. Visiting this store is always an adventure.
Michaels Stores
I can never walk in here without feeling inspired to start a project. Often I leave with a dozen or more ideas spinning in my mind. They have quite a selection for each category housed in the store. It's a feast for the eyes and each aisle takes me several minutes to browse through, thoroughly entranced. If I worked here, I'd never take my paycheck home!
Hobby Lobby
I come here occasionally for ideas, and I enjoy browsing with a friend or two along, to marvel at these handcrafted works together. Most of the works in here are home décor and decorations. I particularly enjoy looking at the items that were upcycled from paper or used oil drums.
Ten Thousand Villages | Ethical Handcrafted Goods & Gifts
My favorite section of this store is the baked goods. Every time I come here I check to see if they have fresh cheese bread available. This bread has cheese thoroughly mixed throughout the bread, not just sprinkled on top. But that's just the last stop. There are all kinds of plants to check out, as well as home decorations and garden supplies. They even have a section for fairy garden accessories.
Ashcombe Farm and Greenhouses
This is a great place to visit for a variety of artists' work. Almost all of the items sold in this store are handmade, and they periodically host new artists' works. Great for inspiration and the occasional holiday shopping.
32 Mercantile LLC
For all book lovers, this is the store for you. They have books of all genres, and games and puzzles for both kids and adults. There's even a Starbucks and a sit down area so you can grab a coffee and chill with your newest book. Great place to relax or meet friends.
Barnes & Noble
DIY/Home Improvement
This store helped me out last time I needed brackets and screws for a DIY project. I wanted to make a frame to display my earrings using wood I recycled from pallet skids. I was very proud of it, but I'm thinking about going back for more supplies to make a mock 2 now that I've seen better designs.
The Home Depot
I've gone to Lowe's multiple times for storage needs, light bulbs, screws, dishwasher liquid, and my favorite: one of the gourmet lollipops available at checkout. It's under a dollar so I don't even feel guilty about adding it to my purchase. Before checkout, I tend to get sidetracked in the lamp aisle, trying to decide which one is my favorite and which one would look best in my home.
Lowe's
This is a great store for everything from home improvement to tools, lawn care, pond care, and even pet supplies. I've spend many days in this store dreaming about building my own storage shed, art studio, castle complete with a moat… I could do just about anything I wanted, with enough money and the selection they provide.
PaulB Hardware
Excellent place for household items on a budget. I've gotten more than my money's worth out of shopping here. Great deals, great selection.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet: Get Good Stuff Cheap!
Costume Projects
Excellent store for the price conscious shopper. I've gotten household items and clothing here, but also items to create my own costume. Sometimes I want fabric cheap, and it's pretty easy to take apart a skirt and reuse it in a a new project.
Community Aid
I love coming here just to look around. I've bought trim to make my own custom table covers for art shows, and I've browsed their selections of decorations and jewelry supplies. Nowhere else has such a wide selection of fabrics for whatever costume, blanket, curtains, dress, or bag you'd like to make.
JOANN Fabric and Crafts
This is a great place to buy baskets. I'm not kidding. It's weird how many baskets this thrift store has versus any other thrift store. I've also bought plenty of glass containers here to put my art supplies in or a wire bonsai tree that I made.
