These are places I visit for entertainment, education, or for unique dates.
I've been roller skating here ever since I was a kid. Love the high energy music selection
Fountainblu Skating Arena
Great historic site to explore and learn more about the local past, as well as one of the best weekly Farmer's markets to browse.
Dill's Tavern
This is a wonderful area to go camping, fishing, or simply to visit for a day hike.
Gifford Pinchot State Park - PA DCNR
My husband loves Go Karts, and so do I! It can be so fun to zoom around and unleash all the road rage! No slow drivers here!
Carlisle Sports Emporium
This place is good for winter activities as well as summer, but I particularly like them in the winter when I have less options. Great slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing!
Roundtop Mountain Resort
Unleash your wild side and throw sharp objects! Love to come here and work out my aggression!
Axes and O's
A gorgeous land feature that I spent my childhood playing near. Great for splashing, fishing, and particularly kayaking.
Yellow Breeches Creek Water Trail in PA
Nothing sparks my imagination and childlike joy like a trip to the PA Rennaissance Faire! The costumes are fabulous, the characters are devoted to the immersion of the experience, and the food is prime!
Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire
Visited this store for a novel experience. These people are very knowledgeable about the model railway hobby, it's definitely a passion of theirs.
The Station | New Cumberland, PA 17070
I'm not someone who is particularly interested in trains, but I loved the miniature sets and learning the history and development of early steam engines to our modern locomotives.
Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania
Great scenery, and there's nothing quite like learning history in places where you can explore the relics of the times you are reading about. It feels so much more relevant outside of the textbook.
Pine Grove Furnace State …
Racquetball may be a little known sport, but there are racquetball courts at this location. I grew up playing with my dad, but places to play are hard to find. I love playing with a few friends, and nothing compares to the sound of the ball riccocheting off all 4 walls, floor, and ceiling.
YMCA
I played here often as a kid, there are 3 different playgrounds, a dog park, walking paths, a boat launch, and educational programs that run here periodically. I learned about frogs and saw my first peeper(tiny frog) in person here.
Lower Allen Township Community Park
Wonderfully local pool to where I am, and who doesn't enjoy swimming in the summer?
Hampden Township Pool
This place also periodically has a steam show in addition to the flea market, and there are train tours and historical craft demonstrations. The flea market itself is also quite an adventure! You never know what you'll find, whether it's plants, an old ice cream scooper, a gemstone vendor, antiques, shirts… they really do cover a vast array of categories.
Williams Grove Flea Market
Hands down best amusement park. Skip the crowds and the hours long wait for rides! This wonderful family friendly park has plenty of shade and benches to rest on, and there's no entry fees! You could walk in and explore, visit the food stands or arcade, no day pass required, no parking fees! There are tickets or wrist bands available, allowing you to decide the pace you want your day to have. I will always love this park.
