Porch Pots
One of my favorite veggies, as well as a great producer. You may have to share your bounty with the neighbors to get them all eaten.
Green Beans - Burpee
I'm trying this as a squirrel deterrent this year. They look pretty as well.
Marigold - The Home Depot
My husband eats these in so many forms, I gotta grow these! Slices, pasta sauce, whole, or diced in chili.
Tomatoes
My favorite fruit, rivaled only by fresh peaches. These are a classic taste of summer
Strawberry Plants
Wishful Garden
These can always help fill out a salad, or if your household loves pickles, what beats homemade pickles?
Cucumbers
I love adding these to various dishes. Omelettes, casseroles, salads, sandwiches. It's a great flavor addition.
Onions
Garlic is very good for your heart and immune system. It's also a great flavor boost to lots of dishes. It also works as a natural pest repellant in the garden.
Garlic Plants
Great staple food, I always love mashed potatoes, as well as breakfast hash, homemade fries, and chips.
Potatoes
I'd plant these for my husband if I could. This is a favorite snack for him.
Carrots
I miss eating this. Cut into chunks and caramelized in the oven, these were such a treat!
Butternut Squash
Fruit Trees
I'm currently trying to grow a few cherry trees from seeds. I have always loved cherries, and I can't wait to have them every year!
Fruit Trees - Cherry
I'm growing some apple trees this year in hopes that I can save on grocery costs in future years. An apple a day keeps the doctor away, or so I hear XD
Apple Trees
I'm starting a peach tree! Can't wait until I get fresh peaches every year!
Peach Tree
Herbs
Great seasoning, and excellent for homemade pizza, or for drying and storing to save a grocery trip.
Basil
My husband and I drink lots of tea, and mint is a natural pest repellant in addition!
Mint
My husband's favorite seasoning to use. He puts it in just about anything. Pasta sauce, chili, eggs, soup.
Rosemary
Another seasoning commonly used in our family. Growing this should save a grocery trip.
Oregano
Aside from being a frequently used spice, it makes quite an attractive plant to have in the garden. It also attracts a lot of insects that are beneficial for gardens and eat pest insects.
