A heisty-adventure tale about a thief tasked with stealing the heart of her enemy.
A Thief Among Liars | Paperback
A cute enemies-to-lovers, found family tale.
Dance of Thieves a book by Mary E. Pearson
New Adult
A fun twist on a lot of common YA fantasy tropes. It feels more mature than many YA reads while still having that familiar comfort.
Quicksilver by Callie Hart | Waterstones
A bit of a dense read, but it felt fresh and fun. Kept me entertained from beginning to end.
When the Moon Hatched | Hardcover
The continuation of the Shades of Magic series is a fun twist on characters we know and love with some new faces mixed in. Schwab will always be my favourite author.
The Fragile Threads of Power by V. E. Schwab | Waterstones
This one is moody and gothic. Rachel Gillig is quickly becoming a favourite author.
One Dark Window | Paperback
One of my top reads of 2025 thus far. I was pleasantly surprised by how many details came full circle. This was a really well considered story that felt fresh and familiar in all the best ways.
The Knight and the Moth | BN Exclusive
I first read these because it was a free audibook on Audible, but boy was I in for a ride. I'm so glad I took a chance because it was one of my favourite reads of 2024.
The Bridge Kingdom (The Bridge Kingdom Series #1) | Paperback
Adult
I grew up on the Gallagher Girls series, and this is like a continuation but for adults. <3
The Blonde Identity | Hardcover
Dark academia, secret society fantasy. Book 1/3
The Atlas Six | Paperback
Just as fun as Pirates of the Caribbean.
Dark Water Daughter (The Winter Sea - Book One) | Paperback
This book is outside of what I normally read, but I absolutely loved it. If you're a fan of Asian dramas and Mulan, you'll like this book.
She Who Became the Sun
A science-fantasy retelling of Antony and Cleopatra. I literally gasped at the ending. Thorough world-building and a unique twist on a battle royale. Book 1
Book 2 after Immortal Longings. A science fantasy retelling of Antony and Cleopatra.
Vilest Things | Hardcover
I wouldn't have put this on my favourites list after first reading it, but the longer I'm away from the book, the more I appreciate it. And I think it says something that the story has stuck with me so long after reading. It's a lovely fantasy story ...
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue | Paperback
It's made the rounds on TikTok, but I genuinely love this series. It's a comfort read for me. (And if you can find the original covers, I recommend those, too. But they're pretty hard to get these days.)
Throne of Glass - Hardcover Box Set by Sarah J. Maas
This is a really affordable special edition that looks beautiful for such beautiful words.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue | Leatherbound Hardcover
I will never not recommend a Schwab book. This story took me by surprise, as it's out of my usual reading tastes, but Schwab's lyrical and deeply personal writing made this one an easy favourite.
Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil | Hardcover
I picked this one up as a recommendation from a friend, and I'm so glad I did. The story of Isabel and Vienne was a heartwrenching one that had me tearing through each page.
The Nightingale | Paperback

What I read to remember myself.
These Are the Words | Paperback
Craft Books
Books for writers looking to deepen their craft.
Written specifically for YA writers, this book is full of advice from established authors.
Dear Ally, How Do You Write a Book? | Paperback
It comes across as a little condescending, but there's great detail in here about getting to the root of character that I use to this day.
Story Genius: How to Use Brain Science to Go Beyond Outlining and Write a Riveting Novel (Before You Waste Three Years Writing 327 Pages That Go Nowhere)|Paperback
It's everywhere these days, and for good reason. Save the Cat is a new way to think about story structure while being familiar enough to execute easily.
Save the Cat! Writes a Novel: The Last Book On Novel Writing You'll Ever Need | Paperback

A helpful read to shift perspective and to know how to stand your ground. Boundaries are a bit of a buzz word, but when executed correctly, it's the healthiest way to be in relationship.
