What an RN Mom actually keeps in 1 cabinet at home. No expired meds, no over-buying. When I worked abroad as a nurse, our medicine cabinet was checked daily - no expired, no clutter. At home with 2 kids, I do the same. No big plastic box that doesn't close. Just 1 small cabinet/pouch with what we really use: MEBO for burns/wounds, Aquaphor for dryness/barrier, saline wash for no-sting cleaning, infrared gun for 2am fever checks, fun plasters that stay in place, plus the basics. Everything has expiry written with marker on top. I check every 1st of the month. If it's here, I used it in the hospital abroad and at home (hospital-grade but for home use). *For home first aid, (for minor issues only). For information based on my nursing experience. For severe, deep, large, bleeding, infected wounds or high persistent fever, please seek medical care. Always check expiry dates.
